Lidija Stanković received her primary musical education at the "Dr Vojislav Vučkovic" school of music and graduated from the "Josip Slavenski" secondary music school in Belgrade under prof.Gordana Jovanović. After graduating from the Academy of Music in Ljubljana under prof. Dubravka Tomšič Srebotnjak, Lidija received her Master of Arts degree from the Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade under prof. Arbo Valdme.
During her musical education, Lidija won numerous prizes: 12 first prizes in Republic and Federal competitions, awards at international competitions in Senigallia and Stresa (Italy), Zemon (Slovenia), two October Awards granted by the City of Belgrade, the Prešeren Award of the University of Ljubljana, the "Emil Hajek" award and the "Olga Mihajlovic" award as the Faculty of Music Arts most talented student.
Since her school days, Lidija has made extensive concert appearances. She performed with the Belgrade, Zagreb and Slovenian Philharmonic, the Symphony Orchestra of RTV Ljubljana, the Dubrovnik Festival Orchestra, the Brussels Radio and TV Philharmonic Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Novi Sad, the Dušan Skovran String Orchestra, the St.George Strings chamber orchestra, and with the Žebeljan chamber orchestra. She has performed as a soloist at concerts in all major cities in the former Yugoslavia (Ljubljana, Maribor, Zagreb, Split, Dubrovnik, Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Novi Sad, Kragujevac, Beograd, Skoplje, ...). She has also played both as a soloist and with chamber orchestras in Italy, Belgium, Austria, Germany, France, Holland, Poland and Great Britain.
Alongside classical piano repertoire, she endeavours to cherish Serbian musical heritage playing the works of national composers.
As a chamber player, Lidija has collaborated with many renowned artists including Vesna Stanković, Aleksandar Madžar, Aneta Ilić.
Since 1989, she has had an active pedagogical career as a piano professor at the Faculty of Music. She acted as a jury member in many competitions such as international competitions "Isidor Bajić", "Dr Vojislav Vučković", "Davorin Jenko", "Chopin Fest", "EPTA", and the Slovenian National Competition for Young Pianists in 2012 and 2014.
For a continuous period of eight years she held master classes within the "PANOPTICUM MUSICUM" music course in Novi Sad.
Her students have achieved outstanding results - 29 of them hold the title of Bachelor, 11 the title of Master, 6 the title of a Specialist and 1 the title of a Doctor of Philosophy. They are successful performers and teachers at schools and universities.
In December 2017, the Great Plaque of the University of Arts with Charter was awarded to Lidija for her remarkable achievement and contribution to the development of the Faculty of Music and University of Arts.
